This may sound just a little bit off, but when I look at myself in the mirror, I really smile big. For the past several years, I’ve learned about this big word called affirmations. You know, the whole “I am” statements. Maybe you think it’s a waste of time or have a “yeah right, I’m sure that works…NOT” attitude. I am here to tell you, it works. Below I’m gonna give you a little challenge so you can see if it works for you.
If you’re not a believer in the power of words, try it Mikey, you may like it! Here’s Your Challenge:
- Write out 10 “I am” statements in present tense.
- Wake up every morning 5 minutes earlier.
- Look at your self in the mirror (in the eyes).
- Say your affirmations with conviction.
- Journal your results for the 30 days.
At the end of the 30 day trial, reflect and see what things have actually happened. I’d love to hear all about your results in the comments below!
One of my affirmation statements I thought I’d share with you. It’s focussed on me growing as a leader so I can help impact more lives. I say, “I am a successful leader and people are contacting me everyday to join my team.’ And guess what, the past 2 weeks I have had 2 specific instances where 2 couples joined my team without me even brining up the opportunity. The first couple found me on the internet. Go figure! I do not know all the ends and outs of how to get my information to “come up in Google”. I’ve heard that’s important though. And I know at some point I need to learn how to optimize my website. But for now, I just figure I’ll continue speaking affirmations and writing my blog in hopes of attracting and helping more people. The second couple I was meeting with just to help them in their health and I thought they’d become customers. When we met, they decided that they’d love to focus on their health and help other people do the same. So cool!
So now you know why I am a BIG believer that affirmations work. I’ve heard so many times, speak it into being. I do think there are actions that are required too though. Maybe when you say things enough, you actually not only start to believe what you’re saying; but also, you start acting to make it happen too. I encourage you to give it a go. Whether you want better health, relationships, money, etc…just give it the old college try! You may be pleasantly surprised. 😉
